Lorena Gunter Woodward
Lorena Catherine Gunter Woodward, 76, of Benton, Louisiana passed away peacefully at her home on January 9, 2021.
Lorena was born in Goldonna, Louisiana on January 14, 1944 to Chester Earl Gunter and Lillie Gillen Gunter.
An alumna of Fair Park High School in Shreveport, Lorena was a beloved mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She married at the age of sixteen and raised three sons with her husband, Ronald "Rex" Woodward. She always said that her boys were the best thing to ever happen to her. Lorena worked as a hairdresser for most of her life and had a passion for sewing. She was a breast cancer survivor and inspired many on her journey to recovery. Lorena would have done anything for her family and friends, whom she loved unconditionally.
Lorena is preceded in death by her parents and her husband.
Lorena is survived by her three sons: Michael Shane Woodward and his wife Donna of Shreveport; Artie Shawn Woodward and his wife Lori of Rogers, AR; and Rhett Shannon Woodward and his wife Ann of Shreveport. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Lauren Woodward Briscoe and husband James; Christa Woodward Chasteen and husband Mark; and Cody Woodward; great-grandchildren, Jace Chasteen and Ronan Chasteen, as well as numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
