Mrs. Myrtle Tea Stewart

SHREVEPORT, LA - Celebration of life services for Mrs. Myrtle Tea Stewart, 89, will be 11 a.m. Monday, August 6, 2012 at Galilee Baptist Church, 1500 Pierre Ave., Pastor E. E. Jones, officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Benton, La. Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc, Shreveport Alumnae Chapter Omega-Omega ceremony will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, before the service.

Mrs. Stewart entered into eternal rest on August 1, 2012 after a lenghty illness. She was a retired educator for the Caddo Parish school system.

She is survived by 2 sons Louis L. Stewart (Kim) and Robert A. Stewart, 1 daughter Denise Revere (Jeffery), caregiver Cynthia Bell Watson, 3 grandchildren Curtis Stewart, Danielle Stewart and Marcellous Revere, 4 godchildren, 3 sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Stewart was my english teacher at BTW thru my high school years. She was a wonderful teacher, kind, understanding, and just a nice person. I really enjoyed my years as a student in her class. My prayers are with the family. BTW'65.

Mrs. Stewart paved the way for most of us and was an exceptional educator and role model. I speak for the entire Class of BTW 1965 when I say to her family Thanks for sharing her with us.
