Ricky Laird Durham
Ricky Laird Durham was born May 29, 1958 to James & Fabol Durham in Shreveport, LA. Ricky was a graduate of Captain Shreve and LSUS. His career began with his family at Durham and Durham, then he started his own firm and became known as "The Tax Man." He was a "colorful character" and never met a stranger. He was easy to spot in Shreve City during Mardi Gras in a vintage Budweiser sweater, purple jester hat, and Saints striped Zubaz pants. He had a lifelong love affair with deviled eggs, his Mom's tuna fish, and hollering at the TV during LSU and Saints games.
After many health complications Ricky passed away on November 1, 2020, with his loved ones surrounding his bedside. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Rex, and his niece, Shawn. He is survived by his wife, Jeannie, daughters, Kendra (Lisa) and Sabrina, and his granddaughters, Laikyn and Makynzie (better known to them as Pooh). He is also survived by sister, Penny and nephews Rex, Brent, and Parker and niece Marisa.
To celebrate his life, and possibly hear some "Ricky stories", please come to an open house on 11-15-20 at 529 Dudley Drive, 71104, from 1-5pm. The family asks that you wear a mask as we plan to follow the COVID guidelines.
We would like to thank his team of medical professionals, especially Fresenius Kidney Care South Bossier, and the MICU & ER staffs at Ochsner's. In lieu of flowers we ask you donate to Medical Research at Ochsner's, 1541 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA 71103, Attn: Tara Arrant, or YWCA's resale shop Fab Finds at 109 Kings Highway, Shreveport, LA 71104.
