A memorial service celebrating the life of Annie Laurie Savage will be held on Friday, February 8, 2013 at 10am in the Frost Chapel at First Baptist Church in Shreveport, LA. Officiating the service will be Donny Crittendon. Interment will follow at Forest Park St. Vincent Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday, February 7, 2013 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home on Marshall Street.

Annie Laurie was born on December 21, 1928 in Shreveport, Louisiana to parents, Fred and Hallie Savage and went home to be with her Lord and Savior on February 5, 2013. She was preceded in death by both parents, brother, Fred Savage Jr. and his wife, Nellie, and nephew, John Savage. Annie Laurie is survived by nieces, Mary Esther Wilder and husband, Larry of Harrah, OK., Ruth Crittendon and husband, Donny of Gracemont, OK., Martha Miller and husband, David of Richmond, VA. and nephew David Savage and wife, Rita of Fayetteville, AR. and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.

Annie Laurie graduated from Louisiana College in Pineville, LA. and was a member of Delta Kappa Gamma. She was a Librarian at Werner Park Elementary School and retired after 40 years as an educator. After retiring, Annie Laurie traveled to many exciting places overseas and once met the author of "Corduroy The Bear", Don Freeman.

Annie Laurie's love of Christ led her to use her musical talents for him at First Baptist Church. She composed music and loved to sing. Annie Laurie was also a longtime member of Centenary writers group and an Officer of the Shreveport Writers Group. Annie Laurie wrote many poems, some of which were published.

Honoring Annie Laurie as pallbearers will be; David Savage, David Miller, Larry Wilder, Billie Ray Haynes, Donny Crittendon and Dave Sandifer.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials may be made to Williams Baptist College, 60 W. Fulbright Ave. Walnut Ridge AR. 72476.
