A mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Sam Thomas Cimino will be held at 1:00, Friday, June 9, 2017 at St. John's Cathedral with Father Matthew Long presiding. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 pm, Thursday, June 8, 2017 at Osborn Funeral Home in Shreveport, LA with a rosary to follow.

Sam was born May 21, 1979 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away June 5, 2017.

A graduate of Southwood High School, Sam was yearbook editor, an Eagle Scout, and Order of the Arrow. Pursuing a degree in Business, Sam graduated from Stephen F. Austin and was consistently top salesman in medical sales in Houston, TX. Sam decided to challenge himself to a career in law receiving his Juris Doctorate from Cooley Law School at Western Michigan University and was the recipient of numerous awards.

During college Sam followed the path of his maternal grandfather pledging Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was Chapter President two years and received the Life Loyal Sig Award. He was a requested speaker and trainer for Sigma Chi after graduation and made a big impact on the lives of many young men. Sam was to have been presented the highest Sigma Chi honor, the Order of Constantine Award, the end of June, 2017. Sam lived his faith in Jesus Christ.

Sam was preceded in death by his grandparents, Salvatore and Bessie Cimino; his maternal grandmother, Grace Bozeman; and a beloved uncle, Frank Cimino. Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Sam and Nancy Cimino; his brothers, Michael (Ileana) and Anthony; and his sister, Maria Cimino. Sam dearly loved his nephew, Dominic Cimino and his niece, Anahi Cimino.

Honoring Sam as pallbearers will be Ritchie Karam, Rusty Pumphrey, Brent Adams, Thomas Avallone, Louis Avallone, and Joe Ballistrella.
