Elizabeth Cuomo Allen Dearest mother and nana, happiest surrounded by family and her loyal dog Elizabeth Ann Cuomo Allen, age 87, passed away on June 21st, 2021. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Allen (2/15/1973). She was the loving and devoted mother of Mary Bosco and her husband Salvatore, Patricia Oliva and her husband Michael, and James Allen-McDaniel and his husband Chris. She was the cherished and adored nana of Lauren, Michael, James, Brian, Kaitlyn, Sarah, and Madison. Born on November 4th, 1933, Elizabeth (Betty) was immediately the apple of Catherine and Ciro's, her parents, eyes. She had a close relationship with both of her older sisters, Catherine Green and Mary Jones. Betty attended and graduated from Holy Innocents Elementary School and Prospect Heights High School. Betty wed James Allen in 1960 and in the next few years, she gave birth to her three beautiful children. Her strength and resilience were clear after the premature death of her husband in 1973. Betty's good-nature, big heart, and incredible patience inspired each of her children and grandchildren daily. She had a talent for making everyone around her feel important and loved. Betty loved nothing more than spending her time with her family and her dog Sammie. Betty and Sammie were inseparable and whenever she left the house, even if only for a few minutes, Sammie would greet her with unbelievable excitement when she returned. She was happiest when she was on vacation with her family, especially in Walt Disney World. She spent countless hours browsing in her favorite stores. Betty came alive when she would spend time with her grandchildren and loved chatting away with stories of her past. She enjoyed her mornings watching Let's Make a Deal and the Price is Right, afternoon soap operas like All My Children and General Hospital, and made sure to catch Jeopardy every week night. Betty was an avid reader and in her final years, her granddaughter would read every night to her before she would go to bed. She could eat spaghetti every day but always saved room for dessert. Each of her children and grandchildren fondly remember how she taught them the songs "Sidewalks of New York" and "School Days."
