Joseph L. Taffaro, 77
Devoted husband, dear brother, avid hunter, lived in Great Kills
Joseph L. Taffaro, 77, of Great Kills passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020.
Born Monday, Nov. 30, 1942, in New York, N.Y., he was the son of the late Louis Taffaro and Sarah Catalanotte Taffaro.
Joseph, a loan coordinator for the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, spent his free time with his life's passion, hunting, and as a member of the Colonial Rifle and Pistol Club. He was a longtime treasurer of the club. Joe was also a member of the NRA.
He was the devoted husband of 40 years to Antoinette Taffaro and the dear brother of Margaret Horvath and husband Edward, and Vivian Taffaro.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at St Clare Church, 110 Nelson Ave., Staten Island, N.Y. 10308. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island. The family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, 2020, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd., Staten Island, N.Y.
