Vincent A. Guardino, 83
Carpenters Union member, 'a genuine gentleman,' of New Dorp
Vincent A. Guardino, age 83, passed away Thursday, Feb. 6, 2020, at the Addeo House Facility.
Vincent was the son of the late Michael and Pauline Guardino. He was a native Staten Islander. Born in South Beach, he graduated from McKee High School and was a resident of New Dorp for the past 56 years.
He is survived by his cherished wife of 60 years, RoseAnne (nee Baratta). He leaves behind two devoted sons, Steven (Dawn) and Michael (Linda); two admiring grandchildren, Vincent (Suzie) and Justine; his adoring sister, Joan Hackett (the late Bill) and beloved sister-in-law Marie Wilkos (Richie), as well as many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends.
Vincent was a proud carpenter and a member of Carpenters Local Union 257 Manhattan. He worked on and supervised many amazing and iconic building sites, including the original Twin Towers at The World Trade Center. Vincent kept in touch with all of his lifelong friends and was a member of the South Beach Robins.
He treasured spending time with his beautiful family and cooking Sunday dinners. He was a diehard Mets fan and was a talented artist of caricature sketch drawings. He adored going to all of his boys' football games. Traveling was one of his favorite hobbies and he was especially fond of touring the West. He looked forward to trips to Atlantic City, playing the slot machines. He always came home a winner because he was surrounded by his family. Vincent was admired, respected and cherished by all who knew him. He was, and will always be, a genuine gentleman with a heart filled with kindness.
The wake will be Sunday, Feb. 9, at Hanley Funeral Home. Visiting hours are 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Addeo House will be appreciated; 78 Meisner Ave, Staten Island, NY 10306, (718) 226-6450.
