Lifelong Staten Island resident was 'an artist at heart'
Diane Marie Russo, 78, died on Feb. 3, 2018, after a long illness. She was born on Staten Island and remained a lifelong resident.
Diane was an artist at heart and loved to draw and paint. Her creative talent was visible in everything she did. She used that talent during her many years of employment at DiMarzio Co., creating the world-renowned guitar pickups.
Diane was a truly gentle soul who loved her family above all else. She liked to garden and cook, and hosted the most amazing holiday gatherings.
Diane was the daughter of the late Henry and Diana Savard and is survived by her three children, Anna Farina, Diana Romano and Joseph Russo, and their spouses, Anthony Farina, John Romano and Cindy Russo. She is also survived by five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at Hanley Funeral Home today, Monday, Feb. 5, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Mass is on Tuesday, Feb. 6, at Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, at 9:30 a.m. A private cremation will follow.
