Ellen G. Cutler(1932 - 2018)

Ellen G. Cutler, 85, of Saugus, CA passed away on June 21, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on November 5, 1932 in Ft. Worth, TX to Charles Joseph Gallagher and Margaret Rose O'Donnell, the oldest of 5 children.

Ellen was a long time resident of Burbank, CA prior to moving to Saugus, CA in 1988.

She was a Secretary in the Personnel Dept. at Disney Studios (1954-1961) before becoming a stay-at-home mom, raising her 6 children. In 1976, she returned to work part-time in the Religious Education office at St. Francis Xavier before retiring in 1988. There she helped coordinate the relocation of Vietnamese refugees and was instrumental in the formation of many charitable organizations throughout the community including Burbank Temporary Aid Society, St. Francis Xavier Mission Circle/Teen Mission Circle and White Elephant at the annual fiesta. Upon moving to the Santa Clarita area in 1988, she continued her volunteering at the local SCV Food Pantry and St. Clare Mission Circle.

Ellen was a talented seamstress often making her own clothes and matching Easter outfits for all her girls. She enjoyed cooking, savored her nightly glass of boxed Chablis wine, and had an uncanny knack for crossword puzzles and high scoring Words with Friends. She enjoyed a good book and rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy or her "soaps". She loved spending time with family and friends as long as it was not between the hours of 11:00a.m. and 1:00p.m. She opened up her heart and home to many people throughout her life. Babysitting the grand kids and recently, great-grand kids, kept her young and her mind healthy.

She is survived by her sons Gary (Sally) Cutler and Matthew (Brandie) Cutler, and daughters Tracey Augustine, Terri Peters, Colleen (Shane) Sindle, Patti (Greg) Garcia, as well as her 14 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren, sister Rosemary, loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard and son Kevin Richard.

Ellen's funeral service will take place on Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 1l:00a.m at St. Clare Catholic Church in Canyon Country, CA 91351. A luncheon will follow. Interment will be private.
