It is with great fondness that I rewrite this about my friend SUE MACOMBER.
She was extraordinary. Had a library in her brain. Simple ,graceful and elegant.
Always kind and thoughtful.

I have many fond memories of Sue's dedication and feistiness. She wore her consumer rights advocate role like badge of honor. What a treasure she was.

I am extremely saddened to learn of Sue's passing. I worked with her for three months while interning at UCAN several years ago. She was a wonderfully sweet woman with a quick wit, great laugh, and a caring and generous atmosphere about her. Sue was a dedicated consumer advocate and fought fiercely for those who depended on her expertise and strength. Having recently lost my own father years too soon, my very deepest sympathies go out to Sue's family and friends.

Dear Sue's family,
I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I only learned recently of Sue's passing and wanted to extend my condolence to all of you.
I met Sue through a regional telecom project three years ago. Sue was amazing from the start, vivacious, comedic and not afraid to speak her mind. She mentored me as we worked to protect consumers and I learned so much from her.
Rest in peace, Sue. Your fight is over.

I met Susie through Jane, over 20 years ago. She was such a fun and happy person. I will remember always how strong a person she was. Jane and I lost touch after the "last recession" so I did not know about the battle Susie was fighting. I am so sorry to the Siner family and all who loved her.
Jane, call me. I miss you. Sandie Wright 760-672-2525

I was privileged to work with Sue at UCAN for the past 6 years.
I watched and admired her as she worked long hours on her computer, and on the phone, helping consumers right the wrongs that had been done to them.
Sue was also a caring co-worker and friend. She was always stylish, but never hesitated to "get her hands dirty" to help on a project around the office or to assist a colleague.
If I ever had to be in a fight, I would have wanted Sue there with me.
She never hesitated to take on corporate giants or politicians and I'm sure some hated to get the message that Sue Macomber was calling for them.
That fighting spirit was never more evident than in these past few months as she battled her medical problems.
Sue can never be replaced. Sue has left an indelible imprint on all who knew her. We can best honor her by caring about, and helping others, as she did every day.
My thoughts and prayers are with Sue's family.

Dear Family: especially Helen and Sherry
I was fortunate to get to work with Sue at UCAN for eight or more years. She and Langley took me out for Happy Hour down at the beach the night before I left San Diego to move to Nashville. I'll never forget what a great evening it was. Sue was one in a million and always made me feel special, when it was really she who was special. She helped take all the office politics out of the office, making it a great place to work and a team effort. She always had vibes about people so she knew whether a potential staff member was going to fit in. I am very saddened by her early leaving us. We kept in touch and she was always a day brightener when I got an email from her. Sorry this is so long, but the only way to let Helen and Sherry know how much Sue meant to me. We had lunch together a couple times, one time on the patio of the bar downstairs, and she often kept me laughing. I join you in missing her. She enriched my life.
Love to both,
Betty Mallard

Don't it always seem to go....that you don't know what you've got til it's gone. I am deeply saddened by the untimely passing of Susie. This was a GIANT of a woman in all respects. It was amazing to watch her 178 IQ learn things. She just had to look at something once and she learned it. She also had a beautiful and courageous heart. I was the fortunate young man who got to escort her to the High School Prom in 1964.I wish I had been more mature to understand Susie's inner beauty and strength.Don't it always seem to go....that you don't know what you've got till it's gone. Rest in Peace dear Princess. S.T.

To all the family, I was so saddened and shocked to hear of Sue's passing. I always considered Sue a special and beautiful friend. How true the words in her obit. She was a just and powerful fighter for those who could not fight for themselves. I will miss her terribly and I will never forget her. My prayers and thoughts are with you during this sad time.

Susie and I taught together at Spring Valley Middle School and kept in touch all these years. We were supposed to have lunch today at Poseidon in Del Mar so she could walk on the beach and see the ocean. Maureen Sage
