It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Alberta Dawn Scharf (Schell) peacefully at Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital on March 10th, 2021 in her 81st year. Dawn, beloved wife of the late Glenn Scharf of 55 years. Loving mother of Kevin of Orillia and Lisa (Brian Zulak) of Coldwater. Loving and proud grandma to grandkids Breanna and Kyle. Sister of Dan Schell (predeceased) of Gravenhurst, Sue (Peter) Yates of Brooklin, and Lynn Schell of Gravenhust. Sister-in-law of Gary Scharf (Gloria) both predeceased of Orillia and Susan McEachern (Allen, predeceased) of Humphrey. She will be missed by nieces, nephews, family and long time friends. Dawn had a love for the outdoors. She was fortunate to grow up on Muskoka Lake and the love for the water continued throughout her life. She was a huge supporter of her family attending many theatre productions and sporting events. She spent many hours helping with events for the Orillia Shrine Club along side her husband Glenn. She was known as the "mom" of Forest Home looking after many of the kids the neighborhood while raising her own. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life in Dawn's honour will be held at a later date.
