It is with heavy hearts that family announce the death of Mildred Alma Herries (nee Small), age 97 on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Mill Creek Care Centre, Barrie. Born July 13, 1923 in Cloverdale BC., she graduated from Western University, London in 1946 with BScN (Nursing) and worked in Public Health most of her career. She was a long time member of Collier United Church. Mildred was proud of her family and grandchildren and loved to share in their accomplishments and celebrations. She was a very talented crafter in quilting, knitting and needlepoint and created various pieces which she gave as gifts to her family. She especially enjoyed summers fishing with her soulmate, George at the family cottage at Red Cedar Lake. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 51 years George Herries in 2000 and by granddaughter Heather in 1984. Loving mother of Sandra Shea (Ted) of Petrolia, Kathryn McNabb (Don) of Bracebridge, Dan Herries (Darlyne) of Barrie. Sadly missed by grandchildren Jamie, Jodi, Ryan, Lindsey, Kara, Amy and Danielle, and by 12 great-grandchildren. Cremation has taken place. Private family service to be arranged.
