Roy Spradlin Obituary
Springfield, IL—Roy D. Spradlin, age 71, of Springfield, Il. and formerly of Jacksonville, Il. died Monday night (July 3, 2017) at St. Johns Hospital in Springfield, Il.
He was born May 1, 1946 in Waverly, Il. son of the late Roy E. and Mabel Lindsey Spradlin.
He married Coral Lee Sanders on May 3, 1969 in Jacksonville, Il. and she preceded him in death on February 11, 2015.
Surviving are three daughters, Julie Ann Spradlin and Jenna Cox (Jason) and Jacquelin Floreca (John) all of Springfield, Il.; one son, Roy Casey Spradlin (Heather) of Springfield, ll.; eleven grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Reynolds of Las Vegas, NV.; four brothers, Bill Spradlin of Springfield, Il., Tom Spradlin and Greg "Buck" Spradlin of Waverly, Il., Kenny Spradlin of San Francisco, Ca.; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; and two sisters, Margaret and Florence.
Roy was a meat cutter for Oscar Myer in Beardstown, Il. as well as recently for Turasky Meats in Springfield, Il. He was an Army veteran serving during Korea. Roy loved his cats and enjoyed pampering them. He loved shooting guns and collecting knives.
A Celebration of Life will be held 4 p.m. Saturday (July 8, 2017) at the Neece-Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Waverly, Il. Burial will be in Waverly East Cemetery where graveside military rites will be conducted by Waverly American Legion Post. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family. Condolences may be sent to the family online at www.airsman-hires.com.

Roy was funny. He loved life. He loved my children like they were his own grandchildren. I was honored to know him, care for him, and be treated like one of his family.
