Terry Grider Obituary
SPRINGFIELD, IL - Terry Paul Grider, 69, of Springfield, died at 8:10 pm, Sunday, March 19, 2017 at his home. He was born July 18, 1947 in Springfield, to Wilburn "Red" and Zula Stayton Grider. He married Cynthia Royal on June 15, 1985 and she preceded him in death on January 31, 2017.
Survivors include one daughter, Sarah (Charles) Sosinski of Springfield; two sisters, Sharon (Gary) Hayes of Girard and Shirley Peters of Springfield; two brothers, Gary (Sandy) Grider and Larry Grider both of Springfield; five grandchildren, Derrick, Shaughn and Abigail Sosinski and Isiah and Chris Armour; two great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Terry was a member of Elliott Avenue Baptist Church. He retired after thirty-two years with the State of Illinois Department of Transportation as a Systems Analyst.
He was a US Navy Veteran and was a member of the VFW.
Visitation: 11:30 am – 12:30 pm, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield.
Funeral Service: 12:30 pm, Monday, March 27, 2017 at Staab Funeral Home-Springfield with Pastor Cana Roth officiating.
Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery where military honors will be conducted.
