I was saddened to read about Mac, as we called him. We both worked in the Engineering Department at Allis Chalmers-Fiat Allis and became pretty good friends, shooting trap in the same league, playing golf, and having libations afterward. He was a good and talented guy, fun to be around, and the source of many laughs. I talked to him on the phone recently after not seeing him since our retirements, and he was the same old Mac--nothing seemed different to me. He will always have a warm spot in my heart.
My sympathy to the family and godspeed to Mac--I'll see him on the otherside.

Dear McKibben Family;
I had the privilege of meeting your father in February 2009. We were both artists in the same contest. He was talented and gracious man and I sensed a great, kind dignity about him.
As I recall the event held after the contest was not well thought out and quite chaotic, but your father very patiently weathered it all. I assume he was used to a bit of chaos perhaps because he had experience with a large family of children.
Very sorry you have lost him.

To our " Brother" and family -
When I started working for a US Congressman last year - one of the first items I took with me to personalize the office was our limited edition envelope with Bob McKibben's Award winning artwork of Abraham Lincoln for the Illinois Bicentennial Commission. I proudly enjoy viewing his talented work everyday. I am sorry we can not join you now personally to celebrate Bob's life, but know we are thinking of you with love and prayers. - The Keeles - Indianapolis
