Fred Lee Roy Lahrmann, 93, was born on November 27, 1920 at the family farm to Will and Ida (King) Lahrmann.

Fred was raised along with his five sisters on that farm near Hewitt Minnesota in Oak Valley Township. He attended school to the eighth grade before he was needed full time for farm duties.

Fred married Beverly Gene Cassel in 1948. In 1951 they had their first son, Lee Edward. They continued to farm until 1953.

Fred, Beverly and Lee moved to Billings Montana where Fred began his carpentry trade. They then moved to Burlington Washington in December 1953. There Fred continued his carpentry work. They had a second son Carter David, born in 1955.

Fred became a skilled carpenter and led many crews in building numerous homes and office buildings in the area. He became well known for his craftsmanship and work ethics. His math and building skills were exceptional. Even to the end of his life, his mind and memory remained keen.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents Will and Ida, his wife Beverly, sisters; Lilah, Rena, Verlie, Lois and baby Mildred, who had died at birth.

Fred is survived by his son Lee and wife Lynn, son Carter, sister Glenis Lahrmann, grandchildren; Erica Lahrmann, Sarah Lahrmann, Alyssa Lahrmann and several nieces and nephews.

A public celebration of life will be held at the Mt. Vernon Elks Club on June 28th 2014 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
