1949 - 2011 Obituary Condolences
Earl Lee Sims, 62 of Yukon, OK passed away on February 23rd, 2011.

He was born on February 21st, 1949 in Oklahoma City, OK to Katherine and James Sims.

Earl joined the United States Marine Corps while still in high school and left for Camp Pendleton immediately after graduation. Upon completion of boot camp, Earl left to serve in Vietnam. Earl was extremely proud to have been a United States Marine and proud to have been a Vietnam Veteran.

Earl had a diverse collection of hobbies which included bowling, being a member of the Skagit Valley area Fast Draw Club, Country and Western dancing and serving as a proud member of the VFW.

Earl loved to have a good time and was known to many as somewhat of prankster who wouldn't shy away from dressing up like a woman to get a few laughs.

Earl is survived by four children and two grandchildren, Priscilla Sims of Nashville, TN, Jared Sims of Lakewood, WA, Riordan Sims (father of Tayshia and Corbin) of Mount Vernon, WA, and Tanis Sims of Mount Vernon, WA.

Earl leaves many fond memories with his brothers and their families, Jimmy Sims & wife Doretha of Huntsville, TX, John Sims & wife Charlotte of OKC, Jerry Sims of OKC and Ralph Loper Sr. of Mustang, OK. Earl also leaves many loving memories with his friends in the Skagit Valley area.

The friendships and bonds he made there were some of the most important in his life and he treasured them until his final day.

Services to celebrate his life will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, March 5th, 2011 at the South Colonial Chapel with burial at Rush Springs Cemetery.
