Eric Potash, 43 year old resident of Sedro-Woolley, WA, passed away at Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, WA. on Friday November 17, 2012.

Eric was born in Reno, NV. on April 15, 1969 to Candis (Wood) Potash and Alry Ernest Potash.

During Eric's short life, he resided in Reno, NV, Long Beach, WA and for the last 30 years he resided in the Skagit Valley area of Washington State.

Eric attended high school in Mount Vernon, WA and graduated VOTEC in 1987. He also attended Skagit Valley Community College and Everett Community College.

Eric worked throughout the Skagit Valley for CB Wholesale, Frontier Building Supply, Western Forest Products and most recently for the City of Sedro-Woolley, WA as building inspector and plans examiner.

Eric is survived by his much loved father, Glenn Evitt and his step-mother Paula Evitt of Sedro-Woolley; his mother, Candis Ensell of Reno, NV; his father Alry Potash of Bakersfield, CA; and his brother John Potash (Tina) of Henderson, NV. Also, Eric is survived by a step-brother Jon T. Bauer (Gale Fiege) of Mount Vernon WA; a step-brother Bruce Bauer (Janice) of Monroe, NC; step-sister Laurel Haverly (Devon) of Katy, TX; step-sister Morgan (Brandon) Young of Sedro-Woolley, WA and many nieces and nephews. Eric also leaves behind the long time extended family of Debbie Steiner from the Mount Vernon area and a special friend, Kim Young, of Sedro-Woolley.

Eric had a huge following of friends and co-workers who shared his love of hunting, fishing, boating, crabbing, camping and classic car restoration. His pride and joy was his restored 1968 "hugger orange" Camaro. He was able to take his Camaro on three road trips this past year to the Washington Peninsula and to Eastern Washington, testing the curves on the North Cascade Highway.

Eric's wishes were to donate his corneas to Sight Life so that two individuals might have the gift of sight.

Cremation is under the care of the Neptune Society.

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 2:00PM at the Sedro-Woolley, WA. Community Center , 703 Pacific Street in Sedro-Woolley, with a reception immediately following the memorial.

Glenn and Paula Evitt wish to thank the doctors and nursing staff at Skagit Valley Hospital and Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham, WA. for the professional and loving care given to Eric and his family. Much gratitude is also given to the City of Sedro-Woolley for the kindness and guidance during an especially difficult time.
