JANET CROMBIE Obituary
Janet, daughter of Dick and Marjorie Rowan, passed away on Tuesday at Skagit Valley Hospital after a long battle with lung and heart problems.
She is survived by three sons, Dick, Don and Dave; one daughter, Julie; and a sister, Sherry Redeker. She is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She graduated in 1951 from Bellingham High School. She graduated as valedictorian from the Salvation Army Bible College in San Francisco. Crombie worked as a director of financial aid at Seattle Pacific University and then at Seattle University until retirement, then started the "Hilltop Holiday House" gift show in Arlington and then Mt Vernon. She also loved singing in the church choir and working at the Gleaners.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be held Thursday, February 12, at 11 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Burlington.
The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Skagit Gleaners, 1021 Riverside Drive, Mount Vernon, WA, 98273

I enjoyed working with Janet in Financial Aid at Seattle Pacific. Along with doing satisfying work, we shared family joys and concerns. Our work was always better together, collaborative and supportive. Janet was a great co-worker and boss, and a dear friend. Keeping her family in my prayers for peace and comfort. I am sorry not to be able to attend the service.
