Obituary Condolences

Lillian Ann (Sundberg) Schuh, 81, passed away on August 8, 2018 with family at her side while at Virginia Mason Hospital in Seattle.

Lillian was born March 8, 1937 in Minnesota the daughter of Arthur E. and Alice J. (Sundquist) Sundberg. Lillian and her family moved to Oregon where she graduated from high school.

While working at the McLaren School for Boys in Woodburn, OR she met and married Walter Schuh. Together Lillian and Walt moved to Pe Ell where Walt worked at Pe Ell High School. In 1965 their first son, John was born. In 1966 Walt and Lil packed up their family and moved north to Skagit Valley. In 1971 Walt and Lil's second son, Eric, was born. Together the family lived first in Edison and then Bow.

Among Lillian's interests was her work in tissue culture at Sakuma Brothers Farms. She prided herself in helping the berry industry and spending workdays with a crew of wonderful co-workers.

Lillian was known for her rhubarb custard pie and making family Sunday dinners for her sons and their families.

Lillian is survived by her son, Eric and wife Emily of Mount Vernon; son, John and husband Stephen of Hamilton; her four grandchildren: Nathan, Seth, Allison and Jacob; her brother-in-law, Steve and wife Susan and family of Mount Vernon; her sister-in-law, Diane and family of Houston, Texas; and numerous relatives throughout the region.

Her passing was preceded by her parents; sisters: Margaret, Angie: brothers: Arnold, Elmer, Marvin; and beloved husband Walt.

No memorial services are planned. Family will gather for a meal at Chuckanut Manor at her request.

Lillian spent her final 20 months residing at San Juan Care Center in Anacortes, WA. There she made many friends and was socially active enjoying trips to the casino and planning the bake sales. In lieu of flowers memorials in Lillian's name may be made to San Juan Care Activity Fund, 911 21st St., Anacortes, WA 98221.
