Margaret Ann Hanseth-King, a lifelong resident of the Skagit Valley, passed away unexpectedly on February 9, 2021 at the Skagit Valley Regional Hospital.
She was born on February 28, 1940 in Stanwood, WA to Otto and Elma Hanseth. Margaret graduated with the class of 1958 from Mount Vernon High School. Margaret worked as a dental assistant in the early 1960s and then began her career in the grocery business when in 1971 her mother purchased Conway Foods. She worked in the grocery business through the 1980s.
She was a member of the Fir-Conway Lutheran Church and the Mount Vernon Elks. Margaret was an avid Washington Husky fan and loved watching the Husky games with friends. She and Bruce loved being snowbirds, traveling to Yuma, AZ, for the winters for 22 years.
Margaret was married to Don Rekdal in 1961, and later married Bruce King in 1981. Bruce passed away in 2018.
She is survived by her children: Lori Grace (Artie), Jim Rekdal and Lisa Steinman; grandchildren Michael Bauder, Nicole (Jordan) Ceruti, Amanda Steinman and Jayson Steinman (Amber); great-granddaughter, Kallie Steinman; and her brother, Bobby Hanseth (Patsi).
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bruce King; her son, Michael Rekdal; and her brothers, Richard and Gary.
The family has suggested that memorials for Margaret be sent to the Skagit Valley Hospital Foundation, Breast Cancer Unit (PO Box 1376, Mount Vernon, WA 98273).
