Bob was born August 5, 1926 in Mount Vernon, WA to Albert and Nellie (Nelson) Hoag; he passed away August 18, 2013 at his home Burlington with his family by his side.

Bob married Muriel Hall in 1944 and started their family with 3 children: Joanne, Patti and Steven Hoag.

Bob joined Skagit Golf and Country Club in 1947 and was the longest standing member (he has eagles all but two holes on the course).

Bob owned and operated Hoag Insurance and Investment.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; spouse: Muriel Hoag sister: Helen: brothers: Albert, Gilbert, Howard, John and Vernon; step-son: Richard Knutson. He is survived by his wife, Marion; children: Joanne (Terry) Swenson, Patti (Mike) Baith and Steven Hoag; grandchildren: Krista (Jeff) Johnsen, Scott (Heather) Swenson, Annie (Tom) Hoffman, Samantha (Tony) Wright, Alisa and Katelyn Hoag and Cindi Pepperworth; step-children: Debra (John) Vander Meulen, and John (Brenda) Knutson; step-grandchildren: Amy (Brad) Trimble, Rachelle (Greg) Soures, Staci (Richard) Silva, Jeff Vander Meulen, Annaka (Julian) Garcia and Veronica Knutson, Shane and Sean Calhoun; 8 great-grandchildren and 13 step-great-grandchildren.

Bob and Marion enjoyed living in Yuma, Arizona for 6 months and Burlington for 6 months.

A Celebration of Bob's life will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013, 12:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the Skagit Golf and Country Club.

Memorials may be made in Bob's name to the Skagit Valley Hospital Pulmonary Rehab or to Hospice of the Northwest.
