Steven (Steve) Glenn Krueger passed away in his home in the early morning of October 1, 2013, at the age of 52 after a courageous battle with glioblastoma (GBM) brain cancer. Steve was diagnosed with terminal GBM IV in November 2012.

Despite this, Steve spent the following 11 months just as he had his entire life, living it to the fullest, with great passion for his loved ones and undying optimism. His contagious 'can-do' attitude and his ability to capture the positive and good in people around him will continue forever to touch the many friends and family he leaves behind.

Steve was born in Anacortes, WA, on February 18, 1961. Since he was very young, Steve demonstrated a genuine energetic and joyous character; these qualities coupled with his determined work ethic persisted throughout his life. He always did everything to the best of his ability without complaining.

Steve graduated from Anacortes H.S. In 1979 and was recognized for his dedication and pursuit of excellence participating in the A.H.S. Cross Country running program. His early employment included working with his father at Lough's Fish Market in Anacortes. He then entered the landscaping and construction field, and was the owner/operator of Arbor Scapes for over 20 years.

Steve is survived by his love, Amanda McCallum, mother to their daughters Sovhan and Caedyn. His concern, care and devotion to his family will be forever cherished. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Frances Isabella (Walton) Krueger and father, Glenn Leon Lough (his wife, Paula); sisters, Cindy Marie (Krueger) Beverick (her husband, Mike) and Wendy Sue Krueger; sisters by marriage, Janis Thibert, Lisa (Thibert) Cameron, Paulette (Thibert) Moena; sister-in-law, Miriam (McCallum) Bradley (her husband, Blayne); niece, Shaela Bradley; nephews, Jake Roth, Adam Roth, Callum Bradley; in-laws, Jim and Dee McCallum; aunts, Sharon Pruitt and Janet Brooks; and many others.

A Celebration of Life service and reception will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 19, at Summit Park Bible Church, 12700 Thompson Rd, Anacortes, WA 98221.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in person at Skagit State Bank - Steven Krueger account, or online at Steven Krueger Facebook page.
