1944 - 2011 Obituary Condolences
Terry Lane, age 66, passed away on Monday, March 28, 2011 in Burlington, WA.

He was born in Alderwood Manor, WA July 30, 1944 to John and Margaret (Demuth) Lane.

Terry was a graduate of Mountlake Terrace High School and Western Washington University. In high school and college, Terry excelled in academics and sports. He received his teaching degree in math and physics.

On August 10, 1974, Terry married Marilyn Mercer from Blaine, WA. In 1978 Terry and Marilyn moved to Concrete where they raised their family.

Terry taught and coached at Concrete High School for 31 years. Christina, Ryan and Kellianne had their dad as their high school math/chemistry/ physics teacher. Prior teaching positions were at Bridgeport, Lynden and Sehome. Terry retired from teaching in 2009.

Preceding him in death were his mother and father.

Survivors include his wife, Marilyn; sister, Peggy Lane, Burlington; two daughters, Christina (Chris) Meyers of Kirkland, Kellianne Lane, WWU/Concrete; and three sons, Ryan Lane of Kirkland, Scott (Billie) Haan and Tracy (Sara) Haan of Palmer, Alaska; Four grandchildren, Tracie, Robert and Colleen Haan and Kassie Haan.

Terry's favorite activities were reading, solving math puzzles and traveling with his family. Hawaii was a favorite destination. In the fall of 2009 he was able to fulfill one of his travel wishes when he took a cruise ship from Seattle through the Panama Canal.

Private family burial will take place at Greenacres, Ferndale, WA under the direction of Hulbush Funeral Home, Burlington.

A public memorial in honor of Terry will be Saturday, May 7th, 2:00 p.m. at the Concrete High School gym.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to In honor of Terry Lane, Concrete Scholarship Fund. Donations may be made at any Wells Fargo Bank branch.
