Kenneth F. Thomas went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 12, 2013. He was born in 1931 in Kent, WA, the fifth child of Gordon and Gertrude (Millhouse) Thomas.

Ken graduated from Burlington High School in 1950 and served in the Air Force during the Korean War. Upon his discharge in 1956 he began work as a design draftsman for the Shell Oil Refinery until he retired in 1989.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Vivian; six children, Stan, Wes, Steve, Sheila, Curt and Benjamin; five granddaughters; six grandsons; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by one brother, Paul; two sisters, Margaret and Cathy; Ohio family members; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by three brothers, Richard, Robert and David Benjamin; one brother-in-law, Max Kemp; and his mother-in-law, Addie Hill.

In lieu of flowers please make donations to Emmanuel Baptist Church, 1515 E. College Way, Mount Vernon, WA 98273 or to the North Puget Cancer Center, 2000 Hospital Dr, Sedro-Woolley, WA 98284.

Public visitation hours will be held from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Saturday, March 16, 2013 at Kern Funeral Home.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, March 18, 2013 at 10:00 am at Emmanuel Baptist Church and a graveside committal service will be held at 3:00 pm at Bow Cemetery.
