Rena Makufka Obituary

Rena L. Makufka, 81, a resident of Pinecrest Manor and formerly of 812 Birch Rd., St. Marys, died Monday, Dec. 4, 2017 at Pinecrest Manor after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 9, 1936 in Tyler, daughter of the late Daniel and Mary Buganza Scanish. Rena was a lifelong resident of the area and was a graduate of Huston Township High School, Class of 1954. She was a member of the Queen of the World Church.
On Sept. 16, 1961 in St. Stanislaus Kostka Church in Tyler, Rena married Robert J. Makufka, who preceded her in death Aug. 31, 2017.
She is survived by two sons, Juliann Gross of Downingtown and Marijo Fels and her husband Michael of Mebane, North Carolina; a son, William J. Makufka and his wife Barbara of St. Marys; six grandchildren, Joshua Makufka, Brittany Makufka, Katie Makufka, Shannon Gross, Dylan Gross, Priya Fels; a sister, Rosanna Chiodo of Weedville; and two brothers, Bobby Scanish and Richard Scanish, both of Penfield.
In addition to her husband and parents, Rena was preceded in death by a son, Scott Makufka in 2016; and two brothers, Daniel and Bill Scanish.
Funeral and committal services for Rena L. Makufka will be private and held at the convenience of the family. There will be no visitation.
