ELKHART - Rick Cour, 69, of Elkhart, IN, passed from this earth at The Cleveland Clinic on June 7, 2018. Rick was born February 2, 1949 in Pulaski, TN and was a resident of Elkhart for 64 years. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1968, joined the United States Navy the same year, and served aboard The USS Columbus out of Norfolk, VA until 1972. He spent the remainder of his career as a tool and die maker for several companies. Much of his time as a tool designer was with Selmer Company on Main St. in Elkhart. He later went on to Benteler Automotive in Goshen and retired in 2013. Rick's greatest passions were restoring classic cars, farming, and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles. He had a great sense of humor, he loved to laugh and make others laugh. He will be forever missed. Rick is survived by his wife, Lisa Cour of Elkhart; daughter, Angie (Larry) Walters also of Elkhart; son, Andrew (Tara Foster) Cour of LaPorte, IN; stepdaughter, Brandy (Bret Posey) Hess of Andover, KS; grandchildren, Neala Cour of LaPorte, IN, Chase Ellsworth of Waco, TX, Savannah Barnes, and Cayden Hess of Andover, KS; and sisters, Jean (Dan) Thompson of Rockford, WA, Linda (Chuck) Carnabuci of Houston, TX, and Barb (Ron) Oswald of Elkhart. A Service of Remembrance will follow at the funeral home at 2:00 pm. In accordance with the wishes of his family, this will be a casual gathering. He was a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy...a room full of suits might make him walk out of his own service. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301 or The Independence Fund, providers of all-terrain, track-style wheel chairs to disabled veterans, at 9013 Perimeter Woods Drive Suite E, Charlotte, NC 28216.
