Richard Eugene “Rick” Kidwell, 68, of Niles passed away at 7:00pm Tuesday, December 8 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids with his family by his side. Rick was born in Niles to Eugene and Frances (Quillin) Kidwell.
Rick was preceded in death by his father and mother.
He married Shari Lynn (Cox) Kidwell on August 29, 1994 in Las Vegas, NV.
Rick is survived by his wife Shari, son Matt (Alison) Kidwell of South Bend, IN, son Andrew (Nikki) Kidwell of Niles, MI, stepson Brian (Heidi) Bedwell of Edwardsburg, MI, stepson Brad (Trisha) Bedwell of South Bend, IN; and grandchildren, Emily & Avery Kidwell, Aidan, Lexi, & Kenzie Kidwell, Ethan, Chance & Audrina Bedwell, Jordan & Sophia Horvath. He is also survived by his siblings, Diana Grishaber, Jim Kidwell, & Mick Kidwell all of Niles, MI, & Sue Downing of Dowagiac, MI, many nieces and nephews.
Rick was the owner & operator of Quality Fire Protection of Niles for 37 years. He retired in 2017.
He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf, bowling, and playing softball among others. He loved sports including the Cubs, the Packers, and the University of Michigan.
Cremation took place at Michigan Cremation & Funeral Care. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Niles FOP, 531 State St., Niles, MI 49120, Saturday December 19, 2-5pm.

I was saddened to hear of Rick's passing. I was hoping to see him at our 50th reunion next year. I'm going to miss him. Praying that God will comfort Mick and the rest of the family in their time of grief. Jim Miller
