Cecile R. Chausse

CANTON, MA — Cecile R. "Memere" (Fredette) Chausse, 95, of Canton and formerly of New Bedford, died Wednesday, November 7, 2007, at Caritas Norwood Hospital after a brief illness. She was the widow of her beloved Leo "Pepere" Chausse; and daughter of Joseph and Orivina (Therien) Fredette.

She was born and lived in New Bedford until relocating to Canton in 1991. She was employed at Aerovox Corp., until retirement. Cecile was a communicant of Our Lady of Fatima Church while in New Bedford and St. Gerard's in Canton.

Memere was the loving mother of Leo R. Chausse and his wife, Amy of Canton; devoted grandmother, cherished by her three grandchildren, Erin and Justin Chausse, both of Boston and Elizabeth Chausse of Washington, DC; many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Norman, Henry, Roger and Victor Fredette; Loretta Crete, Lillian Newton and Alice Mindle.

Her son and his wife will always be grateful for the wonderful role and example she played in the upbringing of their children.

Visitation will be Friday evening only 5:30-8 PM at Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford. Funeral from the Funeral Home on Saturday at 8:30 AM followed by her Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Fatima Church at 9:30 AM. Interment Pine Grove Cemetery.
