Anthony Tony Paul Anacki of Bridgewater, beloved owner of the iconic Anthonys Charcoal Pit and Tonys Service Station, died February 21, 2016, in his home at the age of 90. Tony was born, raised and educated in Bridgewater, the community he loved dearly. As a successful businessman and dedicated public servant, Tony was, quite literally, known world-wide for his legendary bar style pizza. He also served in a variety of public offices. His service spanned decades and included Board of Selectman (1967-1973), Assessor (1967-1982), Overseer of Public Welfare, Senior Center Board of Trustees, Council on Aging, Bridgewater Housing Authority, an honorary lifetime member of the Democratic Town Committee, and was a charter (founding) member of the Old Colony Planning Council. Tony was active in the Lions Club, Polish Club, Forty-Niners Club, Lincoln Club, and Citizens club. Tony is survived by his son, Alan A. Anacki his spouse Robin; and daughter, Kim B. Flynn, all of Bridgewater. Tony was the grandfather of Cherie, Robert his wife Nicole, Douglas, Christopher his wife Holly and Bridget her husband Martin. Tony was the great-grandfather of Ryan, Robert and William. He was the brother of the late Andrew, Paul, Alice, Ernestine and Tanyia; and was Uncle Tony to countless nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held in the Prophett-Chapman Cole & Gleason Funeral Home, 98 Bedford Street, Bridgewater, Saturday at 11 a.m. Visiting hours are Friday 5-8 p.m. Burial is in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Bridgewater, and afterwards there will be gathering of family and friends at the Polish Club, 127 Spring St., Bridgewater. For online guest book www.ccgfuneralhome.com.
