Lance P. Fiske BROCKTON Lance P. Fiske, 22 years, died Sunday, Aug. 23, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital in Brockton. Born in Nashua, N.H., Sept. 23, 1986, he was a beloved son of George F. Fiske III of Brockton and Merry (Toppi) Chedid of Windham, Maine. Lance had made Brockton his home since 1987, attended Brockton schools and was a graduate of Brockton High School, Class of 2005. Lance played baseball for the East Side Improvement Little League and also Brockton Pony and Colt League. Lance also played basketball for the Brockton Y.M.C.A. Church League. He was an excellent shuffleboard player and played in the Mallard Club League. He also enjoyed playing whiffleball with his twin brothers, Dwight and Drew Fiske, in their back yard. Lance was a self-employed landscaper and painter. He also enjoyed cutting hair for his friends. He was an assistant with his father at Funerarias Multi-Culturel in Brockton and Ilhas Funerarias in Praia, Cape Verde Island. Lance was an essential part in starting up Cape Verde's first full service funeral home in Praia. In addition to his parents, Lance is survived by four brothers, Dwight and Drew Fiske, with whom he resided, Kyle Fiske of Somerville and Christopher Brown of San Franciso; two sisters, Jennifer Gilman of North Brookfield and Jennifer Vasalle of Lebanon, Maine; his grandparents, George and Barbara Fiske Jr. of Athol and Virginia Marriner of South Portland, Maine; two nieces, Erica Gilman and Alexandra Brown; two nephews, Andrew Brown and Brody Vasalle; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. Lance is also survived by his very close friends, the DePaulo and O'Donnell families; and his loving girlfriend, Joslin Mendes of Brockton. Funeral services from his home at Funerarias Multi-Culturel, 238 Court St., Brockton (on the East side), Friday morning, Aug. 28, at 8 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at Christ the King Church, 42 Wendell Ave., Brockton, at 9 a.m. Private interment will take place in the family lot in Silver Lake Cemetery, Athol. Visitation will take place Wednesday 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. At the request of the family, please omit flowers. Lance will always be loved and missed.
