Ralph had a kind heart, great sense of humor and loved spending time with his family and friends. He especially enjoyed golfing with his longtime friend of 70 years, the late Robert "Bob" Capen, the thrill of scratching a "winning" lottery ticket, and was an avid Boston Red Sox fan. He spent many hours watching the birds at his backyard feeders, and was a member of First Baptist Church of Brockton. Ralph was a loving and devoted father, survived by his two daughters, Debra Healy and her husband Thomas of East Bridgewater, and Karyl Macray and her husband Roderick of Rockland, and loving grandfather to Haley Macray. In addition to his two daughters, their husbands, and granddaughter, Ralph leaves behind a son Ralph Gurney, granddaughter Alexandrea, and many nieces and nephews. Ralph was the brother of the late Laura Lyon, Viola Peterson, Clara Peterson, Mildred Wass, Florence Wass, Geraldine Perkins, Harold Gurney, Clinton Gurney, and Allan Gurney. The family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing staff at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital for their support, care, and comfort.
