William D. Perkins Obituary
William Dana "Bill" Perkins, 94, of Halifax, passed away on February 4, 2019 in Abington. William was born in Lewiston, Maine, to Leon Winthrop and Mary Cook Perkins, July 19, 1924. Mr. Perkins joined the Navy, serving during World War II on the USS Shangri-La. Bill was preceded in death by his wife Ruth Vosmus Perkins, his sister Mary Perkins Shaw and a great-granddaughter Elina Perkins. He is survived by his three children, Cynthia P. Pottala of Libertytown, Md., Wm. Dana Perkins Jr. of DeMotte, Ind., Susan J. Perkins of Halifax. He is also survived by 3 grandsons and 14 great-grandchildren. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 11, from 4-8 p.m. at the Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rte. 14), Pembroke. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 12, at 11 a.m. at Temple Baptist Church, 540 Manley St., West Bridgewater, with Pastor Bill Smith officiating. Graveside services will be held at a later date at the Riverside Cemetery in Ogonquit, Maine. Donations can be made to Temple Baptist Church, 540 Manley St., West Bridgewater, MA 02379, designate to Missions home and abroad.
