Nancy L. (Halloran) Byrne, age 66, of Quincy, died peacefully, Friday, January 6, 2017, at home, surrounded by her loving family. Nancy was born in Boston, to the late Daniel W. and Mary (Gillespie) Halloran. She was raised in Boston and Quincy and was a graduate of Quincy High School, Class of 1968. She had lived in Quincy for over fifty years. Most recently, Nancy enjoyed working at Ginger Bettys Bakery in Quincy. She was also employed as a pharmacy technician at Rite Aid in Quincy for many years. Primarily, Nancy was a homemaker who was devoted to her family. She was active in many charities and enjoyed volunteering for Interfaith Social Services, Goodwill Industries, and the Pan-Mass Challenge. Beloved wife for forty-seven years of Raymond J. Byrne, she was the devoted mother of Kerry J. Byrne and his wife Elizabeth McConnell of Quincy, Raymond J. Byrne, Jr. of Randolph, Leanne M. Byrne of Quincy, and Andrew R. Byrne and his fiancee Jenna Twomey of Randolph; loving grandmother of Alivia R. Byrne of North Attleboro. One of six siblings, Nancy was the dear sister of Mary Chepetsky and her husband Joseph of Quincy, John Halloran of New Hampshire, and was predeceased by Daniel, Robert, and Dennis Halloran. Nancy is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, Quincy, Tuesday, January 10, at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Holy Trinity Parish at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 227 Sea Street, Quincy, at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours at the funeral home Monday 4-8 p.m. Interment private.
