Leonard F. King

1941 - 2018

Leonard F. King, 77, of Rockland, died on December 31, 2018, at the VA Hospital in Brockton. He was born October 10, 1941, in Quincy, to the late Stanley and Margaret (Savoie) King. He was raised and educated in Quincy and Weymouth. Leonard was the loving husband of Judith A. (Cinquegrano) King. Mr. King was a proud veteran of the United States Army. After the military he worked at the Quincy ship yard for a brief time, then concrete construction. He was a member of the Elks Club in Weymouth and the Knights of Columbus in Rockland. Leonard enjoyed tending to his vegetable garden and playing Texas Hold'em Poker. He was ranked #1 at one time in the Northern Poker League. Along with his wife Judith, Leonard was the father of Leonard King Jr. of Hanson and Michele Packer of Whitman. He was the brother of Margaret Melanson of Rockland, Kathleen King of Braintree, Ann McAuliffe of Hingham, the late James King and Stephen King. Leonard leaves behind six grandchildren, two step grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by his many nieces and nephews. The family welcomes friends and loved ones to celebrate Leonard's life on Monday January 7, 2019, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Magoun-Biggins Funeral Home, 135 Union Street Rockland. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. Burial will follow the service at St. Patrick's Cemetery in Rockland.
