BOILING SPRINGS, SC-Mrs. Elsie Carol Glenn Brown, 93, of Wesley Court went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, September 29, 2018. A native of Lyman, she was the widow of Lewis Matthew Brown, Sr. who passed away in 2012. She was the daughter of the late George Clinton and Mildred McMakin Glenn. Mrs. Brown was the last surviving member of her immediate family. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, George Glenn.
Mrs. Brown graduated from W.L.T. High School and worked as a bookkeeper and homemaker.
She was a member of Inman United Methodist Church where she was involved in the shut-in ministry and women's circle. She always had an open heart for those who needed advice or care.
She is survived by her children: Judith Vickery (Larry) of Campobello, Lewis Brown, Jr. (Barbara) of Campobello and Jane Brown (Amy Woods) of Efland, NC; grandchildren: Megan Holliday (Nick) of Greensboro, NC and Leah Brown of New York City; two great grandchildren: Lila and Owen Holliday. She is also survived by one sister-in-law: Betty Brown Freeman.
A graveside service will be held on October 4, 2018, at 3:00 p.m. at Good Shepherd Memorial Park with Rev. Ed Stallworth officiating. The family will meet friends at the graveside following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Inman United Methodist Church, P. O. Box 726, Inman, SC 29349 or to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P. O. Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 or to the .
The family would like to extend special thanks to all of the caregivers from Wesley Court, Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Providence Care Hospice, and to other loving individuals who have been involved in her care.
