SPARTANBURG, SC-- Kimberly Beth Havko Self died 6/11/2017 at her parents' home in Spartanburg, SC after a long illness. She was born in Sptg. on 8/22/1982 to Christine Anne Zikmund Havko & Andrew Homer Havko. She was a 2000 graduate of Chapman High. Kimi became a vegetarian at age 11 because of her love for animals. She loved children & cats. She was a 2nd mother to her niece & nephews. She was also her parents' caregiver through cancer, a house fire, & many surgeries. Kimberly was a kind, smart, free-spirited woman who was loved much by family & friends.
She is survived by her parents Chris & Homer Havko, sister Tracy (Adam) McConathy, brother Major Andrew Havko (Lindsay), sister Stephanie Greene (Randy), G'ma Catherine 'Kate' Havko, G'ma Helen Zikmund & 2 nieces and 6 nephews. She is predeceased by her maternal grandparents Joseph & Irene Zikmund & paternal grandfather Homer Havko.
Chaplain Andrew Fischer will conduct a Memorial Service at Hatcher Gardens, 820 John B. White, Sr. Blvd., Sptg., SC 29306 on Wed. 6/21 at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Tracy McConathy, P.O. Box 32, Poncha Springs, CO 81242 for a Japanese weeping cherry tree to be planted in the center of the children's garden. A Memorial Service will be held in Pittsburgh at a later date.
