Marilyn (Miller) Schilling passed away on Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Miller's Merry Manor in Rockport.
Marilyn was born in Rockport on Oct. 29, 1922, and graduated from Rockport High School in 1940 and attended Lockyear Business College. She worked at Servel in Evansville for 9 years, then went to Michigan where she worked for the Pontiac Division of General Motors for 30 years, retiring to Indiana in 1979 to enjoy her "old stomping grounds", and a lot of golf with her husband, John, who preceded her in death in 1999. Also preceding her in death were her parents, Edgar & Hallie (Axton) Miller, two brothers, Billy and Joe Howard Miller, and niece Laura Miller.
Surviving are a brother and sister-in-law Eugene and Sharon Miller, nephew Craig Miller (Jayne) and three children and Laura's three children. Deceased brother Joe's family consists of Marilyn's nieces Cathy Nicely (Randy) of Evansville and their two children, Linda Lutz (Jerry) of Colorado and their two children, nephews Glenn Miller of Evansville, and Greg Miller (Robin) and family of Colorado.
In addition, Marilyn has a beloved step-family consisting of a daughter Vivian Tobin (deceased) of Waterford, Michigan, five grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren, and ten great-great grandchildren.
At Marilyn's request, the Prayer of St. Francis is being read at her service: Lord, make me an instrument of Your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; where there is sadness, joy. O Divine Master, grant that I may seek not so much to be consoled as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive; it is pardoning that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to Eternal Life. Amen.
The family would like to thank the employees and residents of Miller's Merry Manor for their care and love the past six years.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church or Richland United Methodist Church.
Services are Sunday, Oct. 21, at 2 p.m., at Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport. Burial will follow at Mt. Zion Cemetery.
