GORDON, William Paul "Bill"

Passed away March 1, 2011 at his home in Summerville, South Carolina after an eight year battle with Non-Hodgkin's lymphoma resulting from exposure to Agent Orange during his service to America in the Vietnam War. He was a warrior during this battle and continued to live his life and enjoy the time he had left with his wife and family until just recently. Bill was born on June 12th, 1947 in Spokane, Washington to Alice and Les Gordon. After his time in the US Air Force, he returned to Spokane, working for 18 years for Welk Brothers. Bill then opened, Gordon Metal Fabrication and subsequently, BMT until retirement.

Bill is survived by his wife of 34 years, Gayle Gordon; his seven children: Marc (Antwerp, Belgium), Jeannette (Spokane, WA), Matthew (Boca Raton, FL), Suzanne (Highland Beach, FL), Jennifer (Ridgeville, SC) Jeremy (Rathdrum, ID), Jesse (Summerville, SC); nine grandchildren: Joshua (Princeton, NJ), Rachel (Spokane, WA), Alexandria (Carlsbad, CA), Taylor (Bozeman, MT), Lea (Tallahassee, FL), Luke (Boca Raton, FL), Tanner (Centennial, CO), Gabriella and Chase (Rathdrum, ID); his uncle Ronald (Spokane, WA) and his brother Mick (Spokane, WA).

In accordance with Bill's wishes he will be cremated and his ashes will be placed at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific in Hawaii. A wake will be held in Summerville, South Carolina on Saturday, March 5th, 2011.

The family asks that any gifts or donations be given to a Veterans Fund or Animal Shelter in Bill's name at the donor's discretion.
