Born December 6, 1933 in Cresbard, SD; passed away March 10, 2011 in Spokane, he was 77 years old. He is survived by his son, Brian Guenther of Spokane; daughter and son-in-law, Darcea and David Hopf of Winlock, WA; brother: Fred Guenther of St. Maries, ID; sisters: Arlene Pentland and Bonnie Haskins, both of St. Maries, ID; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Guenther; father, Carl Guenther; mother, Elsie Guenther; sister: Betty Kingsley. Don lived in the Spokane area for 51 years (spending the past year at his river property on the Pend Oreille River near Ione, WA). He retired from The Couer d' Alenes Company in 1999. He was a member of the Iron Workers Local 511, a member of Northwood Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Eagles. He enjoyed cutting firewood, falling trees, spending time with family and friends at his river property, camping, hunting, fishing, motorcycling, making things out of iron, and dancing. A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 on Saturday, March 19, at the Eagles in St. Maries, ID. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Maries, ID. Memorial contributions may be made to Spokane Hospice House, PO Box 2215, Spokane, WA 99202.
