PUPO, Ernest Anthony (Age 65) Ernest Anthony Pupo passed away January 31, 2019 and was born April 27, 1953 in Spokane. He partnered with his parents, Ernie J. and Geraldine (Travo) Pupo at Ernie's Italian Restaurant in the Spokane Valley and then began a new career as a school bus driver for East Valley School District, until his retirement about one year ago. He was an avid golfer, was a member of Liberty Lake Golf Course Mens Club and played at least five days a week. Ernie graduated from Gonzaga Prep, where he was a pitcher for the baseball team. He had several perfect games and no hitters. He also played American Legion Baseball during the summer. When he graduated from high school, he was drafted by the Cincinnati Reds Organization and played in their farm system at Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Ernie is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Misty and James Leber, and his grandsons Trenton and Mathew Leber, all of Firestone, CO.; his sister, Connie King and his nephews Luke and Casey. He is also survived by numerous cousins and his beloved German Shepherds, Sadie and Toby. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents. There will be a Memorial Service for him on February 8th, at 12:00 noon at St. Anthony Parish, 2320 N. Cedar St., Spokane 99205.
