McCOY, Henry Bernard December 6, 1946 - December 25, 2018 Henry was a wonderful man that was loved, is missed, and will forever live on in so many lives. He was known to many as "Big Brother" or "Unc" and was known for his smile, kind heart, and sharp dressing. Henry's story began December 6, 1946. He was born in Kingsland, AR and moved to Spokane, WA in 1959. He attended Eastern Washington University where he played basketball. He retired as an Ironworker and was part of the Ironworker Local 14 union, where he was proud to be a part of many construction projects such as the Grand Coulee Dam and many state highways. He enjoyed fishing, tending to his garden, road trips, and hanging with friends and family at the Cathay Inn. Henry was an active trustee member at New Hope Baptist church and adored his church family. He is survived by his father, Raleigh Fletcher of Spokane, WA. His lifelong love, Suzanne Pierre. His children, Christina Weaver of Las Vegas, NV, Cory Hammer of Spokane, WA, eleven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. His siblings, Anita Fletcher, Rose Fletcher, Priscilla Novinsky (all of Spokane, WA), Patricia Sartor of Marietta, GA, Margaret Cranford and Gay Dean Smith of Kingsland, AR. Mae and Bobbie Cranford of Fordyce, AR. Janice and Laura Hardaway both of Rockford, IL. Vincent Hardaway of Laurel, MS. A host of nieces and nephews and many loved ones he considered family. He is preceded in death by his mother Earma Jean McCoy his sister Hattie Cranford and his four brothers Roy Jr, Bobby, Roy Lee, and Terry Cranford. Henry's smile lit up many lives and he will truly be missed. A service celebrating his life will be held January 4th at 11am at Holy Temple Church of God in Christ, 806 W Indiana, Spokane, WA 99205. Flowers, cards, etc. to honor him can be sent to the church.
