(Age 61)

John passed away of cancer on April 16, 2011, in his home in Airway Heights, WA. He was born in Deaconess Hospital on May 28, 1949 in Spokane, WA to Robert M. and Corine F. Brown. Graduated from Lewis & Clark High School in 1967. Briefly attended SFCC and began a life-long pursuit of photography. He had a natural eye for a good picture. He was known by many to literally give his shirt off his back. He loved the outdoors, riding motorcycles, fly fishing, fly tying, hunting and woodworking.
John is survived by his best friend and loving life-partner, Mary Day, as well as his mother, Corine F. Brown, brother Robert M. Brown (Mary Anne), sisters Pam Bredberg of Bozeman, MT, Judith Meagher (Chris) of Olympia, WA and his son Royce Brown, daughter, Alana Brown and step-daughter Melinda Keberle (Daniel). John has three nephews, Erik and Blaine Bredberg and Evan Meagher, two nieces Stephanie Welk (Gus) and Angela Kreiger, Mary's daughters Brandy Ebaugh and Autumn Rouse and nephews Eric Dobrenski and Frank Silva. John was preceded in death by his father Robert M. Brown Sr.
A memorial service will be held at Central Lutheran Church on Thursday, April 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., 512 S. Bernard St. Memorials may be made to SCRAPS, 2521 N. Flora, Spokane Valley, WA 99216 or Cancer Patient Care, 1507 E. Sprague Ave., Spokane, WA 99202.
