Her family was the absolute love of her life and she enjoyed attending numerous family gatherings and especially her grandchildren's sporting events. Lou worked successfully in civil service for over 25 years and ended her career at Bonneville Power Administration where she received numerous outstanding performance awards.
In her retirement she volunteered her time and talents to the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. Lou enjoyed endless hours of working on word games and crossword puzzles. She spoke passionately about politics and world events. Her favorite season was the spring and the planting of her vast array of flowers. She also took great delight in feeding and watching the birds and squirrels that inhabited her yard.
