Marjorie May
(Age 90)

Marjorie May Davis, born July 26, 1920 to Noble and Revella Williams in Spokane, Washington. Marjorie passed into the Kingdom of Heaven on January 15, 2011. Marjorie was raised in Spokane but her family moved to follow jobs to North Idaho and on to Usk Washington. She graduated from Cusick High school in 1938 and entered the Sacred Heart School of Nursing in Spokane. Marjorie met George E. Davis during school and they were married on June 3, 1939. She and George were married for 68 years until his passing on November 20, 2007.
Marjorie and George moved to Tacoma, Washington, Colville, and then to their farm in Usk, Washington in 1943 and successfully ran a Grade A Dairy Farm shipping milk to Carnation Dairy in Spokane. They also commercially raised beef cattle, chickens and sold eggs.
In 1958 they left the farm moving to Yakima, Washington and then back to Spokane. Marjorie worked at the Crescent department store as a monogrammer from 1958 to 1969.
She then worked for K-Mart from 1969 to 1975 when she retired with her husband. Marjorie loved Spokane and enjoyed being with her family at their cabin on the Pend Oreille River near Usk.
Marjorie was a wonderful, loving mother and grandmother. She enjoyed the outdoors, her hobbies of jewelry, ceramics and general crafts. She also enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, Canada and Europe.
Marjorie was a member of the Millwood Presbyterian Church and was involved in the prayer group. She was also a 4-H Club Leader, a member of the Royal Neighbors and the Grange. She is survived by her sons, George E. Davis Jr. (Myrnes) of Usk and William E. Davis (Barbara) of Pasco; her sister Lorraine Messmer of Portland; Oregon and her eight grandchildren: Martin G. Davis, Shawn M. Johnson, Maria L. Goff, Christina M. Kernan, William E. Davis Jr., Brian G. Davis, Bradley D. Davis and Benjamin J. Davis along with her 13 great-grandchildren. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents and her husband George. Marjorie loved us and we all loved her, as did God. She will be missed, but never forgotten. A private Family Service will be held at Sherman-Knapp Funeral Home in Newport. SHERMAN-KNAPP FUNERAL HOME in NEWPORT is in charge of arrangements.
