Unabelle Turner, also known as Honey Grandma passed on December 19th, 2010. She was born UnaBelle Sattler, July 26th 1919, Valier Montana.
She grew up on a small farm in Newgate B.C. with her parents Ethel and Emil Sattler, and her two brothers, Adrian and Verne until they moved to Spokane after the untimely death of her mother. At age 14 UnaBelle became the homemaker for her father and two brothers. At 21 she would meet her now deceased husband Albert P. Turner and were married for 55 years. UnaBelle had a long career with the State of Washington, working at Eastern State Hospital and eventually retiring from Labor and Industries where she was the first female tax collector in the state. For her family and many friends she was the glue that bound the generations, the record keeper, the practical advice giver, best friend and caretaker.
