Bill was born in Granite Falls, Washington. After being raised in the farm life, he went into the military at the age of 22. Served in the Navy, went into deep sea diving training. He was one of the last Pearl Harbor Survivors. Bill was very proud to be able to serve his country, has an honorable discharge from the Navy. Went on to build his own business as a rock crusher contractor for making roads in the northwest. Finally settled down in Spokane to build a home and raise his family. When he retired, he moved to Hauser Lake, Idaho where he was still very busy restoring cars, boats and big machinery, something he always enjoyed doing. He is survived by Oscar Sutherland (son), Nancy Sutherland Potter (daughter), NancyKay Smith (granddaughter) and two great-grandchildren Sonyia and Dameion. He was preceded in death by a son James W.
