Antonia FRANEK Obituary

FRANEK, Antonia Ann was born in Rajec, Czechoslovakia to John and Josephine Smutny, and was called to rest in her Father's arms, January 16, 2014. At age six she immigrated to New York through Ellis Island. She fought adversity learning English and was often made fun of. She met her husband, Andrew Franek, U.S. Navy, and married in 1943. They moved to California where they bought a bakery. They raised three children, John, Joseph and MaryAnn, while all worked the family business. She is preceded in death by Andy; son, Joe; and sister, Mary Teetor. Her utmost passion was her devout faith in God and lived it each day. She started and ended each day with prayer. Her love was shown to all who knew her through her generous spirit. She leaves behind her son, John (Sarah) Franek; MaryAnn Coffman; grandchildren, Julie (Kurt) Allgood, John Pat (Tricia) Franek, Amy (Wade) Colvin, Melissa (Duane) Janshen, Jennifer (Lance) Lorz, Christy (Cole) Beaman; numerous great-grandchildren; and nephew, Mike Teetor. Funeral Mass will be at 10:00AM, Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Assumption Parish, 3624 W. Indian Trail Rd. Memorial contributions can be made to Assumption School. Ann lived her life "Love God and Love one another". Please visit Ann's on-line memorial at www.hennesseyfuneralhomes.com to leave a message of remembrance. Arrangements entrusted to:

Her life was a true reflection of God's love! Our family was blessed to be loved by this amazing soul. I will never forget her beautiful smile, the joy in her laugh, the genuine love and kindness she shared with each and everyone she would meet! She was humble and walked with great dignity and grace. I am honored to have known her. Love you "Grandma Ann" Peace Be With You!

Eternal peace grant to her oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon her, as she was a light to all who knew her.

How privledged I am to have known and loved dear Ann. She showed me how to give unconditionaly of oneself, not to be judgemental always to forgive and praise God. She welcomed everyone who she came in contact with warmly and with the biggest smile. Always was concerned about you and your family. Her family was her heart and she gave them her all. How she loved taking trips with them and bragged about each and every one in such a loving way.I am so very thankful to all the Franek's for allowing me to truly know such a kind, compassionate, generous, spirit in my lifetime, she was the truest of friends. She will always be St. Ann to me.
