Michael Jon Kettner

1961 - 2018

Kettner, Michael Jon (1961-2018) Michael was born in Spokane, WA on November 6, 1961 and was the son of Jon & Elizabeth Kettner. He attended and graduated from Spokane Lutheran School. He went on to Central Valley HS and graduated in 1980. From there he went to Valparaiso University in Indiana and graduated in 1984 with a degree in Business Administration and an emphasis in Accounting. He received his MBA from Harvard University in 1996. While attending Valparaiso, he met his future wife, Karen, whom he married on August 10, 1985 in Lansing, Michigan. They had two children: Katharine and Nate. Michael died at home in Somerville, MA on January 10 after a long battle with cancer. In addition to his wife and children, he is survived by his parents, two brothers, Mark, Paul and two sisters, Rachael and Deborah. Michael enjoyed traveling to Spokane to spend time with family and friends. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hiking, photography and running. He participated in and finished numerous races including the New York City and Boston Marathons. A memorial service will be held on February 3rd at 11.00 AM at Redeemer Lutheran Church, located at 3606 S Schafer Rd in Spokane Valley. Donations may be made in his memory to the church.
